Product description

The recall involves Epson Perfection Scanner (V30/ V33/ V37/ V300/ V330/ V370) AC power adapter sold by Epson between 2010 and 2017 with universal product number: EADP-16CB B included with the Epson Perfection Scanner. The affected Series I power adapters have a circular indentation on the side of the plastic adapter enclosure.

Affected AC power adapters can be identified by the following part number "EADP-16CB B" and manufacturing date range (2010.01 to 2012.05), which can be found on the power adapter label.

Hazard identified

In a small number of Epson Perfection scanner models V30/ V33/ V37/ V300/ V330/ V370, sold by Epson between 2010 and 2017, the supplied AC adapter may overheat and potentially cause fire or property damage..

As of February 28, 2020, the company has received one report in Canada, that the AC adapter overheated causing a fire. There were no reports of injuries in Canada.

Approximately 25,000 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from January 2010 to December 31, 2017.
