For the first time, Larry McMurtry has agreed to make his books available in electronic-book form, Simon & Schuster announced on Tuesday.
Mr. McMurtry, the author of “Lonesome Dove,” “The Last Picture Show,” “ Terms of Endearment” and “Streets of Laredo,” has for 30 years written his books on the same Hermes 3000 manual typewriter and appeared to be resistant to digital books until now.
“I hope the public will welcome my books to e-books, fresh fields and pastures new,” Mr. McMurtry said in a statement. The Kindle edition of “Lonesome Dove” was priced at $12.99 on Amazon.
