Qt Quick components arrive for Symbian

Source: Nokia Nokia has announced the release of Qt Quick components for Symbian 1.0, a set of UI components for Qt Quick application developers and designers providing ready made QML-based UI building blocks. The components are designed with a common look and feel and should make development easier for Qt/QML application developers who have previously had to create their own UI elements.

The initial version of the components is available for Symbian^3 devices (N8, C7, C6-01, E7, X7 and E6) and is also available for MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan. Full documentation and examples of the components in use are available. The Qt Quick components are available as an update to the Symbian SDK and the LGPL source code is being developed in the open on Qt's Gitorious repository.

Qt Quick is a JavaScript, HTML and CSS oriented UI framework which uses the QML language to create Qt-based applications.
