This week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” College Basketball Player of the Week is UMass point guard Chaz Williams.
WestwoodOne NCAA Basketball host Jason Horowitz filed this report:
“UMass hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since 1998, but the Minutemen will get there this season, and they’ll get there with a guy who plays fast. Chaz Williams is one of the best point guards in the nation, and had a massive game against BYU to earn this week’s honor. The fifth-year senior scored 32 points against the Cougars while dishing out 15 assists in leading UMass to a win and an 8-0 start – its best since 1995, when UMass went on to make the Final Four (though that appearance was later vacated). With five quality wins on the season already, this team is well on its way to the field of 68 come March, and Williams will be a major factor in the race for Atlantic 10 Player of the Year.”
Chaz Williams was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone College Basketball Player of the Week.
