Kyle Busch enters ARCA CRA Super Series 100-lapper at Lucas Oil Raceway July 25

It’s not often that Kyle Busch passes on an opportunity to climb into an ARCA CRA Super Series late model machine and do his thing.

And since he’ll already be in town for the Brickyard 400, Busch will take that opportunity Friday, July 25 at Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR) where he is entered to compete in the ARCA CRA 100-lap main event, the preamble to the evening’s main event – the ARCA Racing Series SCOTT Get Geared Up 200 under the lights at 9:00.

Busch already has 18 career starts in the ARCA CRA Super Series with eight wins, including victories in some of the series’ signature events at the Winchester 400 in 2009, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in 2009, SpeedFest in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and the Rowdy 251 (Now Battle at Berlin 251) in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Busch, the polesitter for last weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in New Hampshire, has 135 NASCAR wins overall. However, prior to Busch’s tenure in the NASCAR ranks, he spent two seasons (2003 and 2004) on and off in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards where he made his career-first superspeedway starts. Busch won ARCA Racing Series events at Kentucky Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway and Daytona Int’l Speedway before he moved on.

Busch will drive his own ARCA CRA late model on the .686-mile LOR oval before the ARCA cars take over for the 200-lapper in prime time. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan is also entered in the ARCA CRA Super Series event.

Tickets, for $20 – which is $10 off the gate price – are now on sale at Menards stores in Anderson, Avon, Bloomington, Camby, Carmel, Columbus, Fishers, Fort Wayne East, Fort Wayne South, Fort Wayne West, Greenwood, Indy East, Indy South, Kokomo, Lafayette South, Lebanon, Muncie, Richmond, Terre Haute and West Lafayette. Tickets for anyone 11 and under will be $10 at the gate.

The ARCA Racing Series event will have its usual lineup of racing veterans and young guns.

NASCAR/ARCA veteran Ken Schrader, 10-time ARCA Racing Series champion Frank Kimmel, ARCA point leader Grant Enfinger and red-hot Mason Mitchell highlight the ARCA Racing Series entries, which also include Shannon McIntosh making her ARCA debut, Justin Allison (grandson of NASCAR legend Donnie Allison) and Venturini Motorsports drivers John Wes Townley, Justin Boston, J.J. Haley and Cody Coughlin.

There are several events taking place in the Indianapolis area to coincide with the ARCA race.

On Thursday, July 24, show cars for the Menards-sponsored No. 27 NASCAR Sprint Cup and No. 88 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series cars will be at the Indy South Menards from noon to 8 p.m. Drivers Paul Menard and Matt Crafton will appear at the store from 7 to 8 p.m.
