GameStop takes "all-time" pre-order sales for CoD: Black Ops

North American retail giant GameStop has revealed that it has received an “all-time” record number of pre-orders for Activision’s hotly anticipated shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The firm’s merchandising boss Bob McKenzie commented, "GameStop is tracking to all-time, record reservations on Call of Duty: Black Ops," adding, "We are ahead of where we were with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year, which previously set the industry standard."

No doubt this will come as music to the ears of the folks at publisher Activision, with the company previously stating that it aims to surpass Modern Warfare 2’s sales and position Black Ops as “the biggest entertainment launch of the year.”

Punters who pre-order the game at GameStop will be given the chance to enter a ‘Surprize Attack’ sweepstake, where you’ll have the opportunity to win prizes in 34 daily draws.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is due out on November 9.
