Moecat
The big question is if the USGA and R&A would actually go for it?
SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted January 12, 2011 Author SPY VIP Share Posted January 12, 2011 With the current rulings they would...unless they make a change to hinder this new patent application. You are going to stat seeing a few more of these as well. I have heard of a few in the pipeline that are fairly interesting. Although on paper this looks the best so far. #TruthDigest
Manavs
in the above photo would #202 be some kind of material similar to golf ball cores? i think they've got something here. that definitely would slow the ball down and make it stay on the face longer, and give it more spin. then again, change your shaft and the net difference is the same. the ass backwards way the usga is going about all this they will never stay ahead of the curve. skihippy
I think that the club makers are going way to far with there idea's. MGS has shown Nike patients with totally adjustable driver heads, and now they are looking at flexing grooves!!! Isn't there a wedge that does this? TWShoot67
If this was to work where they mix some different materials so to have layers to allow the groove to compress during the moment of impact. But will this give an advantage to those with a higher swing speed to enable them to compress these types of grooves? Or will they make different faces of variable material strengths so to make one for say a 70-80, 80-90, 90-100 mph swinger and so on? Maybe by blending by blending certain materials to allow one face easier or harder to compress. JAT PS: it's almost doing the same thing as having High and low compression golf balls. NO? Matt Saternus
I have to say, that regardless of the result with the USGA, I love the outside-the-box thinking. Follow me on Twitter: @MattSaternus
