Apple financial results: $6 billion profit

That's very healthy.

Steve Jobs may have taken an open-ended sick day, but his giant Apple business still has reasons to celebrate.

During the months of October, November and December, 7.33 million iPads were sold around the world.

The iPhone more than doubled that tally with 16.24 million sales, and the iPod Touch topped the pile with 19.45 million sales.

Apple's Mac computer shifted 4.13 million units.

The result? $6 billion profit for Apple.

Steve Jobs informed Apple staff on Monday that he was taking another a medical leave of absence to focus on his health. He's set no date for his return and has handed the Apple reins to COO Tim Cook.

The announcement caused Apple stock to dip.
