The Nintendo 3DS will get its eShop as late as May in Japan as part of a major software update, along with a web browser and the ability to transfer DSiWare titles, according to details coming from an investor meeting in Japan.

Nintendo's eShop for the 3DS will sell Game Boy and Game Boy Color software, as well as apps designed for the 3DS itself, when it launches. Nintendo has already prepared 3DS early adopters for the possibility that the eShop might not be available on day one, noting that a system software update "may be required" to access these features.

Nintendo also touched on new and already announced software at the investor Q&A, including a new Kirby game from developer HAL Laboratory and Battle & Get! Pokémon Typing (complete with Bluetooth wireless keyboard) for the Nintendo DS, as well as Rhythm Heaven, Zero Shinsaku and Pandora's Tower for Wii.

These details are not yet confirmed by Nintendo. We expect a transcript from the meeting to be available online later today.

Update: The English transcript isn't live yet. However, the Japanese one features video of the new Kirby game on Nintendo's website, as well as pictures of the DS keyboard and confirmation of DSiWare transfer. Pandora's Tower is has been confirmed, too.
