Dead Space 2 dev hints at demo for Christmas

Dead Space 2 executive producer Steve Papoutsis has teased that a demo of the survival horror sequel might be on the cards for Christmas.

The comments come following Q&A session on the game’s Facebook page, where a fan enquired, "Can a demo be released as a Christmas gift for us all?"

In response, Papoutsis said: "A lot of people are asking that question. Gonna have to do some thinking about that," followed by the old ‘inhaling through clenched teeth’ routine.

He further teased: "But I would say stay on your toes, stick on the Facebook page and [wink, cluck] you never know."

Elsewhere, Papoutsis indicated that development on the space-horror outing has wrapped, and folk have already completed the game – and it has apparently taken longer to finish than the original Dead Space to boot.

For those who are out of the loop, Dead Space 2 stars original hero Isaac Clarke taking on the gruesome Necromorphs for another bout of strategic-dismembering shenanigans onboard a densely populated space station known as the Sprawl.

The game’s out on January 25, 2011.
