Sony not forcing Move support on Uncharted 3, says dev

Uncharted 3 developer Naughty Dog has said that Sony isn’t forcing the studio to incorporate PlayStation Move and SixAxis functionality in the eagerly anticipated adventurer.

The comments come following an interview with Edge magazine, where fellow Dogs Christophe Balestra and Justin Richmond were asked to offer their two cents on widespread gossip that console makers bulldoze developers in to including tech such as Move in their games.

"Sony’s never said that to us,” replied Balestra. "They’re not telling us we have to use Sixaxis or Move. They’ll say it’d be nice, of course, but they’re not going to go against our judgment if we say it’s not the right thing to do."

Richmond also chipped in on the matter, offering: "They’re always going to ask us to put all their crazy stuff in there and see if it works, but they accept it when it doesn’t."

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to regular readers, with Naughty Dog previously claiming prior to Uncharted 3’s announcement that its next project was too far in development to include Move support.

Drake’s Deception will be out on November 1, 2011.
