Capcom: Street Fighter x Tekken news coming ‘after US 3DS launch’

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono has teased that we can expect fresh details on crossover brawler Street Fighter x Tekken once Nintendo’s 3DS has launched in North America.

Addressing fans on Twitter, Ono wrote, "Is it about SFxTK’s news? It’s after 3DS in US. ;D,” before adding, "We are preparing to make announce for SFxTK!" In case you didn’t know, Nintendo’s next-gen handheld hits US stores on March 27.

For those out of the loop, Capcom’s not the only one busy hammering away on this clash of the titans-style brawler — Namco’s also busy chiselling away on its own outing, titled Tekken x Street Fighter. However, both versions differ on a fundamental basis.

Whereas Capcom’s effort adheres to Street Fighter IV’s distinct aesthetics and gameplay mechanics, Namco’s game will mirror the Tekken 6 engine, though we’ve yet to actually see this particularly incarnation in action.

More as it breaks.
