Uncharted 3 to drive 3D TV adoption, says dev

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is the just excuse punters have been waiting for to get them to take the plunge and fork out for a 3D TV, says Naughty Dog.

Speaking to EDGE (via CVG), lead designer Jacob Minkoff said consumers won’t make the transition to 3D until something suitably “awesome” comes along to justify the asking price – and Nathan Drake’s latest adventure is the ideal meal ticket, apparently.

"People are only going to buy 3D when there’s awesome stuff in 3D. We’re making the awesome stuff that’ll drive people to adopt that technology," he said.

Uncharted 3 is one of a heap of PlayStation 3-exclusives that will drive Sony’s push into the 3D gaming landscape, and hits stores on November 11, 2011.

Other games set to support the swanky tech include The Last Guardian, Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.
