Esteemed game designer Fumito Ueda’s hinted that he wouldn’t mind trying his hand at making an FPS game at some point.
Chatting with EDGE (via CVG), Ueda-san revealed that he’s keen to challenge himself in his future endeavours, and fancies making something totally disparate to the likes of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus.
“If I get the chance, there are things that I’d like to make or challenge myself with, yes,” he commented.
"For instance, I’d like to make 2D games. Right now, that’s what I’d like to do – it may change tomorrow. Oh, and an FPS. Yes, I’d like to make an FPS. I play quite a lot of FPS games in my free time."
Elsewhere, the Team ICO developer offered his two pence as to why ICO and SotC didn’t set the charts alight – apparently, they simply weren’t good enough.
Ueda’s latest title, The Last Guardian, is due out on PlayStation 3 later this year.
