Falcom CEO Toshihiro Kondo revealed this juicy bit in this week's issue of Japan's Dengeki PlayStation magazine. Kondo seems to be a fan of the NGP, saying that it provides an evolution to all the PSP's functionality while also adding in everything that wasn't in that system. It also has some areas that resemble a PC, he said. Falcom has long experience as PC developers, so this makes them feel that they may be able to do things with the system that they couldn't do before.
But before NGP, Falcom will continue to support its primary system, the PSP. Also in Dengeki, the company revealed the latest entry in the Legend of Hero series, which will carry the Japanese name of "Eiyuu Densetsu Ao no Kiseki."
Just to make sure you're current, Ao no Kiseki is the sequel to Zero no Kiseki. They're different from The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, known in Japan as Sora no Kiseki, which sees release in America through Xseed on March 29.
Seeing as how Ao no Kiseki is a direct sequel to Zero no Kiseki, don't expect to hear much about it in the English speaking world until after Zero no Kiseki sees an English release. And before that even happens, it should be noted that Trails in the Sky is actually a trilogy, and there are two additional entries waiting to be localized.
Let's hope Falcom and its international publishing partners don't make us wait for all those PSP titles before localizing the new NGP game.
