Call of Duty web TV series confirmed for Elite subscribers

Activision has announced that Call of Duty Elite subscribers will have access to a web TV series based on the venerable military shooter franchise.

Elite will launch alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 this November, and packs a combination of free and paid content including social networking features, map packs and a Halo Waypoint-style performance tracker among others.

According to The Guardian, the TV series will form part of Elite’s subscription features, with Activision already on the hunt for top talent to sign up for the project.

Said Activision Publishing head, Eric Hirshberg, "We have engaged some top Hollywood talent to create linear video content that will be exclusive to Elite members. That content is inspired by Call of Duty.”

"If you’re a sports fan, there are lots of ways for you to connect with that hobby, that passion, not just on the day that the games are played, but throughout the week, and we wanted to give [Call of Duty players] real entertainment value."

Pushed for more info, Hirshberg said we can expect additional details to drop later this year: "We’re not going to give much more detail until we have something to show. That’ll be later in the year,” he said.
