Company Relocating to Lakewood, Bringing 25 Jobs With It

Newry, a Westlake-based management consulting firm, is moving into the Bailey Building.

Newry, a management consulting firm, is the latest company that has decided to pack it up in Westlake and move operations east to Lakewood.

The company is expected to finalize its lease in the next couple of days in the Bailey Building on Detroit Avenue, said Dru Siley, the city’s director of planning and development.

The company is bringing an estimated two-dozen jobs with it.

“These are 25 good-paying jobs, skilled folks,” Siley said. “They’re looking to grow in an active and vibrant community.”

The build-out on the second floor of the Bailey Building is expected to take several months to complete. Siley said the employees could be in the office by the end of the year.

Newry — which specializes in taking technology products to market — is just one of a few businesses that have recently announced plans to open up shop in Lakewood.

will be the company’s downstairs neighbor, after it announced plans earlier this year to open a satellite branch.

And, in May, Onix Networking — a long-standing partner with Google — announced it was moving from Westlake into the Georgetown Row half of the former  headquarters at the corner Detroit and Graber avenues.

“Newry is of a similar ilk,” Siley said. “When you have that kind caliber of a company looking to move to Lakewood it’s a good indicator of what’s been happening in our community.”
