Police were last night on a murder scene in Point Lisas where a woman was shot dead by a bicycle-riding assailant. Denise Phillips, who was shot in the head at point blank range, collapsed and died at the Point Lisas Round-about. This is the second incident in two days where a person was murdered by a bicycle rider. Dexter Rosary, 35, was gunned down at Debique Trace, Enterprise, Chaguanas by a gunman riding a bicycle on Thursday. Yesterday's incident at 5 pm was witnessed by several people.
Preliminary reports say that Phillips, a Church's Chicken employee, was awaiting transport when a man wearing a coverall approached her. He pointed a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. He then ran to his bicycle and rode off. Acting Supt Abraham and a team of officers from the Couva CID, Chaguanas CID and Homicide Bureau visited the scene. Up to late yesterday police were still searching for a suspect.
