Aixecute goes live

The new exchange platform Aixecute went live successfully at BEKB | BCBE running the OTC-X market.

MACD developed the new exchange platform including the website otc-x.ch under consideration of the existing layout and the connection to market data vendors within 15 months.

Rolf Bigler, head trader, OTC-X and BX Bern eXchange, said: "We are very pleased with the working relationship with MACD and the smooth process to go-live. MACD actively supported us throughout the whole project."

Wolfgang Meyer, responsible technical project manager of BEKB, said: "George Macdonald and his team have shown again their competency and reliability. The successful launch of Aixecute is a further milestone in our close collaboration with MACD."

George Macdonald commented: "Since BEKB went live on SIX Swiss Exchange using GLOX in 2007, we have continued to have a very good relationship with them. I am very pleased that they trusted us with such a large project. The collaboration with HP and IBM was also very successful during the project as they once again proved themselves to be reliable partners."

Aixecute encapsulates all components that are necessary to run an exchange or similar trading place. This includes:
• Matching Engine
• Interfaces to market data vendors
• Trading front end (GLOX)
• FIX connectivity
• Link to settlement
• Reporting
• Invoicing
• Website hosting
• Index calculation

Aixecute can be used for all asset classes and is designed to be scalable for larger volumes. It is ideal for banks that want to run their own internal market or for exchanges that want to have the complete software package from a single supplier.

The name Aixecute originates from a combination of "Aix-La-Chapelle" and "to execute". Aix-La-Chapelle is the French name for Aachen, the German town on the border with Belgium and Holland where MACD's development team is based.
