Hurricane Irene is on her way ... Whether the east coast is ready or not. Folks in the low-lying part of New York City have already been evacuated, as the Category 2 storm is headed right to them. A few country music stars, namely Reba and Chely Wright, have already left the city according to their tweets, while Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood made light of the situation on the band's Twitter page. Even those not in the path -- like LeAnn Rimes, Jewel and Love and Theft -- have reached out to their coastal fans via tweets to ensure that everyone stays safe while they ride out the storm.

However, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg warned that staying behind is not an option for areas where mandatory evacuations have been issued. "Staying behind is dangerous, staying behind is foolish, and it’s against the law, and we urge everyone in the evacuation zones not to wait until gale-force winds,” Bloomberg said during a news conference on Saturday, adding, "The time to leave is right now."
