Panel Discussion: Unique & Boutique, but not a hotel
One of the latest trends for consumers in the lodging industry has become the search for the unusual. Adventurous travelers are becoming more and more intrigued by the fresh concept of staying in accommodations that are not your "typical" hotels. Whether it is underwater, in a refurbished 727 jet, atop a water tower or hidden in a mountain peak, unconventional hotels have become a desired travel destination for those interested in discovering hidden gems. More one-of-a-kind accommodations include forts, life boasts, caves, temples and windmills. One of the most popular types of alternative lodging has become tree houses. Literally branching out on vacation in tree houses, anywhere from an isolated beach to dense rainforest, provides the guest with a unique travel experience. Bringing beloved childhood memories to adulthood, today, one can find these upgraded tree houses all over the world instead of just their backyard.
