Product description

This recall involves IKEA SLADDA bicycles. The SLADDA is a light grey, aluminum framed one-speed bicycle that comes in both 26" and 28" models. The article numbers associated with the SLADDA are 303.267.28 (26") and 603.267.36 (28"). The word IKEA is printed at the bottom of the seat tube near the crank. The article number is printed on a sticker at the bottom of the down tube.

Hazard identified

The belt drive component of the recalled product may break, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

As of May 18, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada or in the United States, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 200 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and 1200 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled bicycles were sold in Canada from August 2016 to January 2018.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the SLADDA bicycle and return it to an IKEA store for a full refund.
