Barcelona vice-president Josep Vives has dismissed fresh talk of losing Leo Messi.

Pirelli chief Marco Tronchetti Provera, which are main sponsors of Inter Milan, talked up the prospect of launching a bid for Messi in response to Juventus' swoop for former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Vives insists such a prospect is a non-starter.

"I cannot imagine the fact that Messi is not with us. The only thing I imagine is to take advantage of him for as long as possible," said Vives.

Messi penned new terms with Barca only last season.
