Expert Feature: 2015 New Year’s Resolutions for Business Owners

New Year's Resolutions 2014

The time has come once again to formulate Resolutions for a New Year.

Dreaded resolutions. Ever broken. Rarely met.

Unfortunately, I continue to make them every year and you probably make them as well, right?

As I’m thinking about my business, Roaring Pajamas, and what we might accomplish in 2015, I’ve decided on just a few resolutions to help us improve the services we provide to our clients:

4 New Years Resolutions for Business Owners:

Taking more risks – We’ll challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zone. Maybe we’ll make regular YouTube videos with tips and tricks to help our clients improve their marketing programs. Maybe we’ll step up more often to the podium to speak out about what we know best – SEO and social media.

Engaging “in person” – All but three of us work in off-site locations. We communicate on a daily basis via email, Skype and GoToMeeting. Sometimes, we just need to talk and often a phone or in-person conversation never happens. In 2015, we will talk to each other more often.

Training – A social media manager or SEO strategist cannot receive too much training. Our industry changes so quickly and we are constantly researching changes to keep up. In 2015, we’ll attend more webinars, conferences and maybe even a Google Analytics certification course.

Balance – Can a life balance ever really be achieved? This resolution is on my list every single year. I believe in balance between work and life, but this feat is not small. I resolve to play more, work smarter not longer and to reach out to nearly forgotten friends. I’ll also spend more time serving our community as a volunteer; something I’ve always expected to do, but don’t always have the time. I expect our team to do the same.

We always want the New Year to be one that’s filled with success, prosperity and health. The best way to achieve these goals is to work hard and stay focused. What will you do to improve yourself and your business in 2015? Tell us about your New Year’s Resolutions.
