Try Something Different

Passal used a clear box filled with bits of paper to conceal a small gift inside — a great way to wrap an oddly shaped gift or forgo the mess of wrapping paper and tape. "This works great for gifting cookies or something you bake too."

Wrap With Things You Have At Home
Kelly Stewart
"You can add even more holiday charm [to your gifts] just by clipping something you have around the house and adding it to the mix," says Passal.
For this gift, he put his typical masculine color palette to show, using grays and browns with a gold and pine accent and a craft paper notecard to tie it all together.
Best Last Minute Gift: "One thing I love to buy is napkins, because they're a great gift, and fairly inexpensive," says Passal. "Everybody can use them and think of you when they do."
Interior designer Jamie Drake draws from his travels to give his gift an inspired look. For these gifts, he pulled from a trip to Morocco.

Use Jewelry As Adornments

Curry collects vintage costume jewelry and uses pieces from her collection to embellish the packages. "Sometimes the hostess ends up wearing the jewelry. It's a cute thing and a conversation starter."
Not a collector of jewelry? Make it your own in another way. "You can choose whatever fabric you like and use chocolates or flowers. You can really customize it."
