3-star defensive end Carter reportedly joins Syracuse’s Class of 2015

Three-star defensive end Kenny Carter verbally committed to Syracuse’s Class of 2015, Scout.com reported Friday night.

Carter, of Plainfield (New Jersey) High School, is the second Garden State defensive end to pledge to Syracuse on Friday, following the commitment from Jake Pickard just a few hours earlier. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Carter officially visited Syracuse last weekend, according to Scout.com, and had received interest from Temple and from Central Florida.

He becomes the 26th member of the Orange’s incoming class, the sixth defensive end in the class and the fifth New Jersey recruit in the group. Carter’s commitment also comes on the heels of two-star defensive tackle Steven Clark’s reaffirmation of his commitment to SU on Thursday night.
