Product description
This recall involves various designs and sizes of children's knitted sweaters and ponchos with hood, neck and waist drawstrings.
Hazard identified
Health Canada has determined that drawstrings on children's upper outerwear can become caught on playground equipment, fences or other objects and result in strangulation, or in the case of a vehicle, the child being dragged.
Neither Indigenous nor Health Canada has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

Number sold
Approximately 50 of the recalled products were sold at Indigenous in City Centre Mall in Edmonton, Alberta.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2014 to February 2015.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Ecuador.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweaters and ponchos to eliminate the hazard.
For additional information, consumers may contact Indigenous at 1-780-243-2615 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. MST, Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 pm to 5:00 p.m. MST on Sunday.
Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
