DeKalb Sanitation Suspends Thursday Operations due to Dangerous Road Conditions

DECATUR, Ga. – Due to dangerous road conditions, the DeKalb County Sanitation Division suspends all administrative and field operations for Thursday, Jan. 18. Collection service for residential and commercial customers, transfer station operations, landfill operations and administrative services will resume on Friday, Jan. 19, during normal operating hours.

The revised residential and commercial collection schedules for the remainder of this week are as follows:

Residential Collection

Customers whose regularly scheduled collection days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will receive garbage and recycling collection service on Friday, Jan. 19, and Saturday, Jan. 20, based on an extended work schedule on both days. Yard trimmings for these customers will not be collected this week, and servicing will resume next week when normal collection schedules are in effect. Residents should place garbage and recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m. on Friday, and return them curbside by 7 a.m. on Saturday if Friday servicing did not occur.

Commercial Collection

Customers whose regularly scheduled collection days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 19, and Saturday, Jan. 20, based on an extended work schedule on both days.
