The cool thing about the free Family Day this Saturday at the International Women's Air & Space Museum at Burke Lakefront Airport is that not only do you get to see all the amazing exhibits, but you get a really close look at aircraft and fire trucks, too.
The theme of the 10th annual Family Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday is "Fifi Saves Superman!" There will be plenty of stations set up for crafts, games, activities, a Lego display, and more.
There will be many activity tables and stations and community resources: MetroHealth System will be offering some free testing; the Cleveland Metroparks will be there to talk to kids; and there will be books from the Cleveland Public Library. At 11 a.m. the Burke Lakefront fire truck will be on display where kids can check out the inside with the firefighters and then they will do a water display. At 1 p.m., a NASA staff member will give a presentation on "The Science of Superman" and how it relates to NASA.
NeoLug, a local Lego group, will have a Lego creation on display, and there will be artwork from students at Glenville High School. There also will be raffles for Lake Erie Monsters tickets, comic books from Carol & John's Comics, USS Cod tickets and Lake County Captains tickets. There also will be a raffle (for $20) to win two Southwest Airlines tickets to any domestic location.
The Family Day event is free and parking along the curb in front of the airport is free but inside the parking lot costs $6.
