Thursday, May 21, 2015

Speaking to reporters in Accra, Ghana’s Finance Minister Seth Terkper said that the country will see a big boost in production over the next three years. Terker said that Ghana’s oil production will rise from its current 39.1 million barrels per year to an estimated 242.3 million barrels per year by 2018, a six-fold increase.

The country will also see gas production adding to its budget this year according to Terkper.

Commenting on the economy, Terkper said that while its GDP would remain low this year, coming in at 3.9%, growth is expected to jump to between 8% and 9% by 2019.
