OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAROY G BIV
This month, ROY G BIV Gallery will be featuring artists Michael Gargiulo and Ash Moniz, with an opening reception on June 6 from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. A talk with the artists will be held June 27 at 2:30pm. Class conflict comes to a head in Gargiulo’s photos and paintings. Globalization displaces national identity in Moniz’s site-specific performances. The work of both artists is on display June 6-27. Opening reception will be on Saturday, June 6 from 7:00 – 10:00pm and an artists’ talk will be on Saturday June 27 at 2:30pm.

Short North paintings by Mac Worthington. There will be an opening reception on June 6 from 11:00am – 10:00pm and an artist’s reception on June 20 from 6:00 – 9:00pm.

Andrea Joyce Heimer’s exhibition, Man, Myth & Magic, continues this month at Lindsay Gallery. Part allegory, part autobiography, her tremendously detailed paintings depict scenes of heartbreak, madness, and the emotional claustrophobia that stems from living as an outsider in one’s own backyard.

This month at Sherrie Gallerie features Contemporary Figurative Ceramics: Works by Jack Earl, Tom Bartel, and Janis Mars Wunderlich. Three legends in figurative ceramics come together to fill the gallery with unique forms, textures, and ideas. Each artist contributes a concentrated and powerful body of work following their own personal analysis of the human body and the human condition.

Whimsy in Transition is a study of whimsical animal creations inspired by change and how we react to it. New works take on a humorous look at the many ways we respond to ever changing life.

The Art of Corbett Reynolds by Corbett Reynolds. The opening reception is June 2 from 5:00 – 7:00pm, at Hilton Columbus. Corbett (1944-2002) was a visionary artist who worked in a variety of materials. He is perhaps best known as the creator of the Red Party, which brought in thousands of revelers from all over the world for 24 years. The Hilton show will feature works from private collections, as well as some works which will be available for purchase

This June, Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio features Funhouse, with works by Roger Kent Grosswiler, Tala Catrene Kanani, Jordan Molli, Rachel Nicklaus, Theresa Touma, and Charles Wince. This group show features painting, installation, assemblage, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking by a collection of recent art school graduates along with both novice and accomplished self-taught Columbus artists.

pm gallery will host Down on the Farm at pm gallery, by painter Vicki Moon Spiegel. Ms. Spiegel works in acrylics with mixed media and incorporated found objects. She worked at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium until retiring and the years spent around wildlife has influenced her work. This show however, is an exploration of the domesticated animal.

For the June Gallery Hop, Big Fun Columbus is featuring a first-timer to their shop, local artist, Chris Crooper. Don’t miss Dave Buker & The Historians performing outside of Big Fun Columbus.

Cork & Brew Columbus
Cork & Brew is hosting live art by contemporary, local, pop artist Arlo Moon. Music provided by DJ Elroy. The event runs from 6:00 – 10:00pm.

First Community Bank
First Community Bank will be participating in this Gallery Hop with a new exhibition by Robert W. Walker from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Walker will display his artwork and merchandise for the month of June at the bank. Stop by First Community on Gallery Hop to meet the artist and view his work.

High Street Tattoo
High Street Tattoo is presenting the work of its own shop manager, Jimbo Tamoro. From the absurdly creepy to imaginatively whimsical, he brings you into a fancifully vivid world with his acrylic paintings. Enjoy outlandish imagery of a local Columbus artist while drinking the free sweet nectar of the gods (also known as PBR) generously provided by PBR on Gallery Hop Saturday at 872 N. High Street, from 7:00 – 10:00pm. All his pieces will be available for sale.

MOUTON
TommyQ and MOUTON are pleased to present a show and sale of the work of well-known local artist, Brian Reaume, for the months of June and July. Opening night is on Friday, June 5 from 6:00 – 9:00pm. Mouton is at 954 N High Street.

Stone Village Church & Art Gallery
On Saturday, June 6 from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Stone Village Church & Art Gallery welcomes local artist, Laura Weiser, and her new exhibit, Unoccupied. The exhibit is a collection of recent drawings and encaustic paintings inspired by architecture’s potential to be a vessel for memory and the idea of home as shelter and sanctuary. Using both illusionistic image making and abstraction the places are filled with apprehension, recollection, and imagination.

The Lamp Shade
Glass Artist Julie Zimmer returns to The Lamp Shade with new slumped glass bottle creations. Julie fires bottles in a kiln to create Food Safe trays for appetizers, candy, candles, and more. She embellishes them with found pieces of jewelry, beads, cork, and wire to add a decorative touch. Stop by to meet Julie and browse her newest creations on Saturday, June 6 from 4:00 – 8:00pm during the June Gallery Hop.

Short North Pint House
Stop by Paint the Pint House on Gallery Hop Saturday featuring live artist, Jimbo Tamoro from 11:00am – 11:00pm.

What the Rock?!
Local publisher Nix Comics will take over the What The Rock ?! storefront in early June, transforming the rock and roll themed gift store into a comic shop focused on the work of independent and DIY artists and publishers. The Nix Comics Pop Up Shop will run from 12:00 – 10:00pm on Saturday, June 6 and from 12:00 – 5:00pm on Sunday, June 7. Merchandise will range from publications like mini-comics, comic books, and graphic novels, to prints and original works of art by the artists who create these comics. More than a dozen artists and publishers will be represented at the shop, and much of the store’s content will exclusively be available this weekend. Don’t miss it.
