The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Wireless Door Chimes are subject to this recall:

  • Swann Communications Wireless Wireless Door Chimes with Two Receiver Units, model number SWHOM-DC820P2. The recall is limited to items with a serial number beginning with “08550”.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional variations of the recalled Door Chimes are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, the back cover of the Receiver Units may detach from the main body exposing live parts. If this happens, anyone touching the Receiver Unit may receive an electric shock.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Wireless Door Chimes, please do not use them. Instead, stop using the product immediately by switching off the power at the socket outlet. Please check the serial number on the Receiver Units. If the serial number is covered by the recall, return the product to the store where it was purchased to receive a replacement or full refund.

Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) when working with electrical fixtures, including gloves and protective eye ware. Ensure all circuits are turned off at the panel before working with any electrical appliance or lighting fixture.
