Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Supervising Laboratory Technologist who will plan, schedule, and assign work to the Laboratory Technologists and other laboratory staff. Additionally, the Supervising Laboratory Technologist is responsible for training and educating residents, entry level technologists and medical technology interns, budgeting, and maintaining compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), & College of American Pathologists (CAP) standards.

THE DEPARTMENT 
 
ARMC is host to a Medical Laboratory Science training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences and approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), providing a supportive environment in which entry level Clinical Laboratory Scientists can obtain exceptional acute care hospital experience in a facility with an accredited  training program.

ARMC is a 456 bed acute care university affiliated teaching facility featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care; ARMC is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department handling more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, certified Primary Stroke Center, and a Regional Burn Center serving San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, and Mono counties. ARMC is fully accredited by the The Joint Commission (TJC), demonstrating that it has met the standards set forth by TJC to provide high quality care and compliance with governmental regulations. ARMC has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 3000 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care unit is a 30 Community California Children's certified unit.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
 
  1. ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Night standby pay available. Shift differentials may apply. Positions require working various shifts; therefore, candidates must indicate availability for all shifts to be considered. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage may be required. 
  2. Incumbents are routinely exposed to dangerous chemicals and infectious materials.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess all of the following:
 
License: Must possess and maintain a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health. Note: a limited license is not considered qualifying; license must include "MTA" prefix.

Experience: Four (4) year of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist performing a variety of high complexity testing, that includes two (2) years in an acute care hospital.

Shift Availability: Must be available to work ALL SHIFTS (Day, Swing, Night, Rotating and Weekend).

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or life sciences and/or medical technology. Supervisory experience, LC/MS/MS experience, and ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) or equivalent certification
