Anuswith Named NAFCU's 2015 Paul Revere Award Recipient

Washington (Sept. 17, 2015) - The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) recognized ABNB Federal Credit Union Vice President of Risk Management Chris Anuswith as the credit union grassroots activist of the year with the presentation of the 2015 Paul Revere Award during the final day of the association's Congressional Caucus Thursday in Washington.

"Chris has worked extremely hard advocating credit unions most important issues," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "We are proud to honor his extraordinary commitment to advancing the industry's pressing legislative and regulatory matters."

The award is only given to an individual of a NAFCU-member credit union and recognizes a credit union supporter who goes to great lengths in their grassroots and political efforts.

Anuswith attends several meetings with congressional staff on behalf of ABNB FCU. In May and June, he met with congressional staff for Reps. Scott Rigell, R-Va., and Randy Forbes, R-Va., respectively. During those discussions, Anuswith talked about some of the credit union industry's critical issues, including data security and regulatory burden and urged passage of certain legislation that would provide relief for credit unions.

ABNB FCU is headquartered in Chesapeake, Va., and was established in 1960. With $495 million in assets, ABNB FCU serves more than 55,000 members from 17 branch locations in Virginia and North Carolina.

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national trade association focusing exclusively on federal issues affecting the nation's federally insured credit unions. NAFCU membership is direct and provides credit unions with the best in federal advocacy, education and compliance assistance. www.nafcu.org.
