“Leading Change without Losing It” Book Review

Leading Change Without Losing It Cover SlimRecently I read the book, “Leading Change without Losing It” by Carey Nieuwhof.  I found this book completely fascinating because I have led change before (sometimes rather unsuccessfully) and I am currently evaluating more change in the future.  So I couldn’t wait to read this book.  And, this book definitely didn’t disappoint.

Speaking from his very own experiences of leading change in a traditional church, Carey shares a lot of great insights and struggles that we can all relate to as we seek to navigate change in our own ministry environment.  His 5 strategies that he unpacks are great and honestly, within a day or two of reading through Strategy 4, I was putting it into practice rather successfully.  His ability to talk through how to lead change in the simplest form made it very easy for me to implement Strategy 4.

But, despite all the wisdom and encouragement I got from his “success” stories, what I appreciate most about his book is that he is real and genuine.  Change is hard and although he has had success at it, he is not foolish enough to think that change is easy…even for him. He had failures and he knows we will have them as well. In addition, he knows that there will be challenges in which if we don’t take care of us there is a higher rate of quitting that goes on…quitting before the change gets done.

So I fully recommend you reading this book, especially if you are thinking about change or in the midst of it.  I was immediately able to take the strategies here and apply them to what I was going through and I think you will be able to do the same.  If you haven’t ordered it or downloaded it to your Kindle or iPad, get it here NOW and start instituting change without losing it.
