Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) seeks an experienced Process Improvement Coordinator to organize, plan, implement, coordinate, and maintain process improvement programs designed to increased efficiency and decrease waste identified in workflow and system processes.  This position will report to the Healthcare Program Administrator for Quality and Performance Improvement and assist in leading a team of professional and support staff tasked with the development and implementation of regulatory and performance improvement activities.  Additional duties include collaborating with administrators, managers, executive sponsors, and other process owners to evaluate existing processes and systems in support of organizational strategic plans and priorities; analyzing and interpreting performance data; preparing and presenting statistical and executive reports and making recommendations; coordinating and planning process improvement group events; providing new staff training as well as staff development and ongoing training opportunities; developing educational tools that can be used by managers and staff throughout the hospital.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

ARMC, which is owned and operated by the County of San Bernardino, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 100,000 annual visits, a Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and four Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC).  The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.

Minimum Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public or Business Administration, or closely related or relevant field.


AND

One of the following:


Option #1: Three (3) years experience performing quality management or performance improvement activities in an acute care hospital.

-OR-

Option #2: Three (3) years experience primarily performing program planning, development and administration, or conducting process improvement activities and projecting probable impacts/outcomes, collecting, organizing, or evaluating data and making recommendations.

Applicants who possess an equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education may be considered.

Program Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development: Describe your experience in program evaluation, and policy planning and development. Include experience assessing needs, identifying error trends, reviewing business practices, conducting analyses and coordinating/implementing corrective action, changes, new programs, services, policies or procedures. Be specific as to your level of responsibility in these areas. **Be sure to include experience in an acute care hospital or other healthcare environment.

Lead Work/Supervision: Describe your experience as a lead worker, supervisor or manager. Include any experience in hiring, assigning and reviewing work, completing work performance evaluations, handling disciplinary actions, developing work schedules and approving time off. Indicate number of subordinate staff and their titles.
