Now that the regular season is over, it will be a while before we get to see the antics of the College GameDay crew again.

From controversial audience signs to rants about coaches, from Bear’s predictions to Lee Corso’s ridiculous headgear reveal, GameDay made sure we were entertained while informing us on the biggest college football storylines of the week.

In honor of our favorite pregame show, we rank the top five College GameDay appearances below:

5. Michigan State at Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 17: This Big Ten matchup and rivalry game drew a huge crowd for College GameDay. It was also the first visit for the crew in the Jim Harbaugh era of Michigan football. While the environment and the khaki pants signs were great, what really made the show was something completely unrelated to either Michigan school. Steve Spurrier, fresh off his retirement from South Carolina, was the guest picker on the show that day, introduced by a montage of his trademark quips and smart remarks. It may have been a little bittersweet to see him picking teams instead of coaching a team, but we also couldn’t wait to to hear his next funny one-liner.

4. Ole Miss at Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Sept. 19: First 2015 trip to an SEC school? Of course we loved it. But location wasn’t the only reason this was one of the best shows of the season. GameDay told us one of the most compelling stories of the year about Fletcher Cleaves, a young football player who was about to start at his college career when he was paralyzed in a car accident that was caused by the oncoming driver being distracted by their phone. This also happened to be the show directly after Jim McElwain’s epic chewing out of Kelvin Taylor went viral, sparking an interesting conversation among the analysts around whether or not McElwain went too far. And while Katy Perry references were in full force – she was the guest on GameDay in 2014 for this matchup in Oxford – the new celebrity guest Eric Church surprised everyone with detailed reasoning to support all of his picks, something the regular GameDay analysts remarked on multiple times.

3. Notre Dame at Temple, Philadelphia, Oct. 31: Katy Perry was the guest picker who caused the most ruckus last year, throwing things at the camera while in her furry football-jersey sweater. The 2015 version of her came in the form of the Phillie Phanatic, who was GameDay’s guest picker when they traveled to the furry green mascot’s home city. As mascots are sometimes known to do, the Phanatic stole the selections segment of the show, throwing itself at Rece Davis, throwing dog biscuits at Desmond Howard, and sticking its tongue out right in Lee Corso’s face. The show ended with the Phanatic inviting the Temple Owls mascot up to the stage as a way to show some Philly love for each other. But both mascots would up shaking their heads at Corso, who picked the Fighting Irish. (It was one of the few picks Corso got right this year.)

2. Richmond at James Madison, Harrisonburg, Va., Oct. 24: The setting for this FCS College GameDay appearance was the beautiful campus of James Madison University, just one of the reasons why this unique visit was one of the best of 2015. Corso was at his all-time best here, digging deep into American history to set up his host game pick. In fact, Corso dressed up as James Madison himself, ruffled shirt and all, striding out majestically to address the cheering crowd with a presidential speech, which he ended by donning the JMU Dukes’ mascot head.

1. LSU at Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nov. 7: The celebrity guest picker for GameDay’s second trip to Alabama is really what makes this particular show worthy of the top spot. Rick Ross came to town, and Corso decided to honor his appearance by putting on a fake beard and aviators of his own in an attempt to look like the rapper. Not only did Corso present Ross with the rapper’s favorite fruit, but he also called him “Teflon Don,” amusing us with his surprising depth of pop culture knowledge. Ross appeased the home crowd by holding up a Crimson Tide hat, but Corso went with the Tigers. When Corso put the LSU mascot head on, we discovered that it also was trussed up to look like Ross, with a fake beard and a grill.
