Watco Children’s Bathrobe recalled due to flammability hazard
Summary
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Children’s Bathrobe and present themselves at a Decathlon store with their bathrobe for a refund.
Affected products
This recall involves Watco brand Kids' lightweight cotton pool bathrobe with hood - navy blue. Barcode: 3 583787 828755 and Model code: 8574483.
Issue
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear of the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations.
Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body.
As of November 23, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
