Product description
This recall involves Bendable Solar Panels with Model #RNG-100DB and Serial Numbers beginning with 15029201504030xxx or 15037201504140xxx printed on the back of the panel. The recalled solar panels are black plastic sheets about 104 cm (41 inches) long by about 53 cm (21 inches) wide by about 0.3 cm (1/8 inch) thick.
Hazard identified
The solar panels can overheat, posing a risk of fire. The panels were not equipped with enough diodes for hot spot protection.
The firm has received 11 reports of the solar panels overheating, including three reports of property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Number sold
37 units of the recalled solar panels were sold in Canada. About 1500 of the panels were sold in USA.
Time period sold
The recalled solar panels were sold direct through RNG Group Inc. from May 2015 through October 2015.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Thailand.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled solar panels and contact RNG Group INC for a product replacement and receive a partial refund.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission’s website.
