Product description

This recall involves snowboard boots with the M3v2 secondary reel dials.  If the M3v2 reel has an adhesive sticker dot on the front, then the recalled dial has already been replaced and nothing further needs to be done.

This recall involves all sizes and colors of the following brand models containing the M3v2 reel:

Hazard identified

Upon sustaining direct impact or when excessive leverage is applied to the dial, the M3v2 secondary reel can become stuck in the open position, causing a loosening in the fit of the boot at the forward portion of the foot or the internal tongue of the boot, and posing a fall hazard.

Heatlh Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to this product.

Boa Technology Inc. has received one report of an incident without injuries in the United States, and one report of an incident without injuries in another country.

Number sold

Approximately 296 snowboard boots (148 pairs) with the recalled secondary reel were available for sale at different retail locations in Canada, and about 1,486 snowboard boots (743 pairs) with the recalled secondary reel were available for sale in the United States.

Time period sold

The snowboard boots with the recalled secondary reel were available for sale from June 2015 to October 2015.

Consumers should immediately stop using the snowboard boots with the recalled secondary reel and contact the retailer where the boots were purchased or Boa Technology Inc. directly for a free repair kit.  A repair video is available online .
