Oakland's Justice Dingle (21) and Lazarius Patterson (4) celebrate a touchdown against Riverdale last season. Dingle will be leaving the team and moving to Bowling Green, Ky.

Oakland's football team took a hit this week when junior Justice Dingle announced to the team he was moving out of state.

Dingle's father, Justice Dingle Sr., confirmed Wednesday the family would be moving to Bowling Green.

The 6-2, 230-pound Dingle, who was projected as a starter at both defensive end and tight end, has received offers from Kentucky, Louisville, MTSU and Tennessee. He is being recruited as a linebacker.

Justice Dingle Sr. has gotten a job as a plant manager in Glasgow, Ky., and said the commute from Murfreesboro was too difficult.

Justice Dingle Jr. will be attending Bowling Green High, a team that won the Kentucky Class 5A state championship in 2015.

As a defensive end last season, Dingle had 13 tackles and a sack in limited time.

"He's a two-way starter, so it's like losing two guys," said Oakland coach Kevin Creasy. "As far as depth, he was also on every special teams. He basically was on every snap. It's a pretty big hit.

"The timing couldn't be worse. We invested all summer on him. It gives other players a chance to take those spots."

He is the second junior with college offers to leave the Patriots since the end of last season and the third Murfreesboro player with offers to leave a program. Oakland lineman Dre Litager (6-3, 280) transferred to rival Riverdale in the offseason. Litaker’s college offers include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Blackman sophomore safety Adonis Otey left Blackman for Franklin Road Academy during the summer.
