Birdathon: Early Birders

This is the fifth year for the Early Birders breakfast event. Participants can hike trails through the woods, or just relax on the front porch, sip on really great coffee, and enjoy the numerous birds. We will have breakfast ready by 6 am for those that want to arrive early to hear Great Horned owls and Chuck-will’s widow; sunrise ~6:45 am will bring a spectacular dawn chorus. Guided hikes will start around 7:45 am. Those that don’t want to wake up early are welcome to come a little later, enjoy the porch (there will still be plenty of food and coffee), and then join the second round of hikes. We will probably wrap up around 11 am.

Expected species include Golden-cheeked warblers, which nest on the property, as well as numerous other Hill country species. Prior Birdathons have identified over 40 species in a morning, and more than 60 species are known to pass through in the spring, so we should have a good variety of birds to enjoy. Beginners are welcome.
