Welcome to the Flowerona Newsletter
I can't quite believe it's already June...the weeks seem to be flying by this year!
If you're based in the UK, I hope you've had a lovely Diamond Jubilee weekend.
Simple Flower Arranging
One popular trend at the moment is to arrange flowers in single stems or groups in glass bottles.
Very fashionable at weddings, it's also the perfect way to arrange flowers in your home. And you could combine cuttings from your own garden with shop-bought flowers.
Charity shops are a great place to pick up bottles..they don't need to match. Or you could buy them from places such as The Balcony Gardener, notonthehighstreet or dotcomsgiftshop.
You may decide to collect clear glass or coloured glass, such as blue, to fit in with the colour scheme in a particular room in your house.
Why not have a go? It's so easy...and yet so effective.

Stunning Peonies at New Covent Garden Flower Market
Last week I visited New Covent Garden Flower Market for a trade event and took the opportunity to snap some peonies...one of my very favourite flowers.
I bought a wrap of the coral peonies above and couldn't quite believe how such a tight bud could open into such a beautiful flower just a few hours later.
Even Matty, my husband, commented on what amazing blooms they were and they added such a burst of colour to our kitchen table...
Seasonal Flowers & Foliage Available this Month
As well as peonies in a wide range of colours, cut flowers which are also available this month include stocks, astilbe, delphiniums, sunflowers and agapanthus.
Plus foliage-wise, alchemilla mollis is available. Do look out for them all in your local florist shop.
Blog of the Month
This month, it's the turn of Style Me Pretty, a very popular and regularly updated US blog featuring chic, stylish weddings with stunning photography.
If you're looking for wedding flowers inspiration, I highly recommend a visit...and if you're not, it's a lovely place to escape to during your lunch hour.

Quote of the Month
This month's flowery quote...
"Slow buds the pink dawn like a rose, from out night's grey and cloudy sheath; softly and still it grows and grows, petal by petal, leaf by leaf."
~Susan Coolidge
