Objectives

At the end of this presentation the learner should:

1. Know the indications for HIV testing.
2. Feel confident ordering and interpreting HIV test results.
3. Be aware of HIV Incidence and regional epidemiology
4. Understand the concept of early treatment strategies.
5. Be aware of common opportunistic infections & co-morbidities associated with HIV and AIDS.

  • Joseph Mazziotta, MD

    Dr. Mazziotta is the Program Director of the Tallahassee Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. He also serves as Clerkship Faculty for the FSU College of Medicine. Prior to joining the residency he served in the USAF as a physician with the 56th Medical Group. He has been involved with the care of HIV infected patients since 1990. He is one of the faculty providers at Care Point HIV Clinic and the Tallahassee Memorial Wound Healing Center.
