Newk’s Eatery Opening July 1

The area’s newest fast-casual restaurant will serve sandwiches, soups, pizzas and more.

The new Newk’s Eatery, a national restaurant chain based out of Mississippi, will open its first Virginia location in Sterling on July 1. It’s joining SouvlakiBar as the second restaurant tenant in the Shoppes at Potomac Corner.

The new center is located kitty corner from the Northern Virginia Community College campus, and across Route 7 from the Kohl’s department store and the new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet location.

Newk’s menu is filled with pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads, mac and cheeses and more. It’s a fast-casual concept where customers order at a counter and then food is brought out to them. It’s similar in concept to a Panera, but distinctly different.

Newk’s has approximately 125 restaurants open or in the works across the southeastern United States. The next nearest Newk’s to Ashburn is in Maryland, northwest of Annapolis.
