The Job

 

The Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) is recruiting for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Specialists. Emergency Medical Services Specialists develop and implement EMS programs related to system planning, pre-hospital care, and certification/accreditation and training of emergency medical services field providers.  EMS Specialists are also required to participate in the Duty Officer rotation upon successful completion of probation and training.

 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Travel: Travel throughout the three-county (Inyo-Mono-San Bernardino) region served by ICEMA is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation; mileage reimbursement is available. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation.

Background Investigation: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, prior to appointment.

Minimum Requirements

CERTIFICATION: Must possess a valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P) license. 

-AND-

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time experience within the last five (5) years working as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P).

Applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Possession of a Registered Nurse license, AND two (2) years of full-time experience within the last five (5) years working as a Registered Nurse may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university, and:

  1. Experience within a healthcare regulatory agency (e.g., BRN, LEMSA)
  2. Experience in EMS Quality Improvement programs
  3. Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining EMS policies and procedures
  4. Experience extracting, reviewing, and analyzing EMS data
