Career
Put together back-to-back record-breaking seasons at Memphis after transferring to Memphis from Coffeyville Community College … Capped his two-year career with 7,955 passing yards and 70 touchdowns ... In 26 career games, had 12 300+ yard passing games and four 400+ yard passing games, including a 471-yard passing game in the AAC Championship game ... That 471-yard game tied his own school record set in a road win at Houston that saw Memphis comeback from a 17-0 halftime deficit to get the 42-38 victory ... Holds single game records at Memphis for most yards passing (471 yards, 2 times) and most touchdown passes (7) ... Holds single season records for pass attempts (474), pass completions (299), most yards passing (4,257) and touchdown passes (38), all set as a senior in 2017 ... His 917 career pass attempts and 579 completions is third in Memphis career history behind Danny Wimprine and Paxton Lynch despite being the only one to play just two seasons at Memphis ... Likewise, his 7,955 carer passing yards is third in program history while his 70 TD passes is second only to four-year starter Danny Wimprine's 81 passes from 2001-04 ... He is the only quarterback in Memphis history to have more than two 400-yard passing games and is the first to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season despite Memphis losing one game due to weather as part of the 2017 schedule.

Enrolled at Memphis in January of 2016 … Put together one of the best seasons for a QB in school history in 2016 … Threw for 3,698 yards on 280-of-443 passing and 32 TD … Had 10 interceptions … The 3,698 yards and 280 completions are second and the 443 attempts are tied for first in program history … Set the school season record for TD passes with 32 … Had seven 300-yard passing performances, the second-most for a season in school history … Ranked among American Athletic Conference leaders in passing yards per game (2nd; 284.5 ypg), pass efficiency (2nd; 152.6), total offense (3rd; 279.1 ypg) and TD passes (T1st; 32) … Logged nine multi-TD pass games (two or more TD passes) … Had seven games with no interceptions … Threw a career-high six TD passes in a home win over Bowling Green … Passed for a career-best 406 yards (30-of-45) in the home upset win over No. 18/21 Houston … The 400-yard passing performance was only the fourth in program history … The 30 completions vs. the Cougars tied a career high … Also had 30 completions vs. Ole Miss … Other six 300-yard passing games came against Bowling Green (359), Ole Miss (343), No. 24/25 Navy (333), Tulsa (349), USF (331) and Western Kentucky (372) … Played only first half vs. Bowling Green … In the road game at Cincinnati, played only two series before having to leave the contest as a result of an injury … Subbed out for the fourth quarter in the road win at SMU … Member of the 2016 Memphis offense that was second in program history for total yards (6,028), points (505) and total TD (57), including a school-record 34 TD passes.

ESPN.com listed Ferguson’s transfer to Memphis among the top 10 (ninth) most important transfers for the 2016 season … Transferred to Memphis from Coffeyville Community College ... Ranked third among National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) quarterbacks in 2015, averaging 326.9 yards per game … Played for head coach Aaron Flores at Coffeyville Community College … Completed 225-of-332 passes for 2,942 yards and 35 TD … Ranked in the top-10 in the NJCAA in completions (third), attempts (sixth), and completion percentage (67.8; fourth) … His total passing yards (sixth) and TD (fourth) also ranked among the best in junior college … A 2015 NJCAA All-America honorable mention pick … Named NJCAA All-Region VI first team offense and All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) first team quarterback in 2015.

Enrolled at the University of Tennessee in 2013, but suffered a leg injury and redshirted his freshman season.

Played prep ball at Butler High School for head coach Brian Hales … Threw for over 8,000 yards in his three seasons as the varsity starter at quarterback … Led the Bulldogs to North Carolina Class 4AA state titles in 2010 and 2012 … Earned state championship game MVP honors in 2012 after throwing for 301 yards and five TD … Had 2,173 yards passing and 25 TD in nine games as a senior … Completed 66 percent of his passes (184-of-279) for 3,345 yards and 48 TD as a junior … Also threw for 2,600 yards and 21 scores during his sophomore season … Participated in the 2012 Elite 11 finals in Redondo Beach, Calif. … A 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl nominee … Named to the 2011 ESPN HS All-State team.
