Statement About Metro Service Suspension
On Thursday, Feb. 21, the City and KCATA made the drastic decision to suspend service, effective at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. This difficult decision was arrived at through conversations with the City Manager, the Mayor, the City’s Office of Emergency Management and KCATA. Service is scheduled to resume service in the morning of Friday, Feb. 22. Thank you to the customers who have shown us patience and to those who heeded warnings to stay home if possible. And we especially thank you for lending a hand to one another at bus stops and on board buses.
Storm Cleanup Continues
Although the snow has stopped falling, KCATA’s job is not done. Conditions on the street continue to improve and we are now focused on clearing snow and ice from bus stops and park-and-rides. The City will be clearing snow from city streets. Please use caution getting on and off buses. We expect treacherous conditions over the next several days.
