Product description
This recall involves the Vector Pro 700 gram (1½ pound) hatchet. The recalled hatchet is identified by item number 576 and UPC number 7-7354400576-2. The hatchet is 38 centimetres (15 inches) long and the Vector Pro trademark is on the side of the hatchet blade.
Hazard identified
Hammering or chopping with the hatchet can create a force upon impact which may cause the head of the hatchet to come loose and come out of the handle, which can pose a laceration hazard to the users.
Neither Royal International nor Health Canada has received reports of injuries related to the use of this Vector Pro hatchet in Canada.
Number sold
Approximately 13,793 of the recalled Vector Pro hatchets were sold through various retailers in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled Vector Pro hatchets were sold from January 2012 to April 2013.
