Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Security Technicians II who perform a variety of functions to ensure the personal safety of employees, patients and visitors while securing the hospital buildings and grounds.  Duties include patrolling the interior and exterior areas of the facility; escorting visitors and staff; performing crowd control; responding to and investigating reports on thefts, and trips/falls; responding to emergency situations involving bomb threats, civil disturbances, and code blue calls; acting as a liaison with law enforcement and assisting with command center operations; assigning and reviewing the work of Security Technicians I on an assigned shift; training staff, and providing input into the hiring, disciplinary and work performance evaluation process.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift Availability: ARMC is a 24 hour facility; applicants must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.   Indicate shift availability on the Supplemental Questionnaire; not indicating availability to work all shifts will result in removal from the recruitment process. 
 
License:  A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment.  Employees are required to drive county vehicles.
 
Background:  Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, verification of employment history and education.
  
Assignment:  The assignment involves transporting decedents to the hospital morgue.
  
Certification:  The work environment may involve exposure to assaultive and combative patients and visitors.  Successful completion of Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training within 60 days of employment is required.  The MAB certification must be maintained while employed.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess all of the following:

Registration: Must possess and maintain a current Guard Registration Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of California.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C driver license.

Availability: Must be available to work ALL SHIFTS: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Rotating, Swing, and Holidays.

Experience: Eighteen (18) months of full-time work experience as a Security Guard, which includes six (6) months of experience working in an acute care hospital.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate has supervisory or lead worker experience, works successfully as part of a team and possesses excellent customer service skills. English/Spanish bilingual skills are highly desired and should be noted on the application.  Candidates who wish to be considered for bilingual positions must indicate bilingual skills on the application and pass a language competency examination in order to receive bilingual compensation.
